The Iron Horse Restaurant is one of the most haunted places I have ever been to excluding some cemeteries. When the lights go out and everyone goes home; that is when the spirits come out from the shadows.
I have been there after closing at least ten times. I would sit in the back room near the pool tables with only one small light on in the other room so I can see around me. I would hear the spirits walking around as they would cross the hard wood floors and the sounds of doors opening and closing are common, and some will call out my name from time to time. They are not shy around me what so ever but it took at least one year of visiting with them and earning their trust.
I discovered, in 1869 the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad sometimes called "the Elkhorn," was established in the state of Nebraska and it ran through Hooper Nebraska around 1871. The town was named for Samuel Hooper, a US congressman from Massachusetts.
There is a spirit by the name of Frank Samuel that haunts the Iron Horse. Frank was a 41 year old railroad worker. He was born in Austin Texas in 1830 and started working for the railroad in 1860 when he was 30.
Frank was only working for the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad a few years before he was killed one afternoon when he was pinned between two rail cars just outside of town in the spring of 1871.
I have an EVP recording of Frank saying he’s been gone for 5 decades ”. But in reality, Frank has been gone for about 145 years as of the date of the recording.
In the video, I will talk to you about the investigation and show you 16 of the 90 photographs of spirits that were taken during our investigations. I will also play 10 of the 68 EVP’s that were recorded, plus an interview with one of the employees of the iron horse by the name of Kathy.
NOTE: In the videos below; we took the EVP recordings and converted them from MP3 format into MP4 videos, and placed a text describing the responses from the spirits so you can read them, and posted them on YouTube. If you would like to read the text responses from the spirits, you can watch the videos shown below in full screen mode or on YouTube.
